Free.Fall

Free Fall

i need not see to know
the rain that continually flow
from the outside pavement
it falls and falls again

and as it falls it leaves a tale
a story behind the melted snow
that by falling it has none to gain
and yet it falls and falls again

the damp earth , now chilled
broken fragments, now healed
and it lifts its arms to open skies
and falls and falls again

Glasses Lips

Posted in Rhymes & Dimes on July 21, 2006 by didee

if the tip of a glass
could only talk
they would tell us
of many endless walks

stories of lips
that had them kissed
of flowered love
and forgotten bliss

of how many whispers
its dainty tips has heared
and how many secrets
its feeble lips has shared

but the glasses lips are
lock and sealed
awaiting for the next moment
for the empty tip to be filled

twinkle twinkle
my sweet dear
hope you’re fine
though im not near
watch the stars
right now, tonight
forming rhythms
in the sky
they will watch you
as you nap
wait for the sun
till you wake up

:)

have a sweet sweet night everyone :D

Wind’s Touch

Posted in Rhymes & Dimes on April 7, 2006 by didee

Not even a whisper
has such
comforting
touch
that has granted
me haven
in an
otherwise
unresting walk.
Not even any
memory
has granted me
such sweet blossoms
in my early
morning
wakefulness.
Not even my
haunting thoughts
had held me
in a speechless
smile
knowing tomorrow’s
going to be
a better one.
Not even me
can keep the wind
from coming in,
blowing my way,
taking me,
making me its own.

.flight.

Posted in Rhymes & Dimes on January 11, 2006 by didee

have u ever heard
of the story
about the chick who flew?
she went up the tree
and looked down below
unmindful of the danger
and the pain that lurks
she closed her eyes

and dived head first
it was flying for her
a split second of
bliss
not to feel the ground
below her
and only the wind
setting the pace
and when she
opened her eyes
to see where
she’s headed
the cold ground
struck her
and her inside
was opened
her guts spilled
on the ground
blood joined her tears
and she looked up and
saw him, smiling a
sad smile of defeat
she smiled back
with hope
raised her tattered
wings, bloodied and all
and said in death pale voice
“the flight was worth the fall”

Those who dwell in the shelter of the most high,
will rest in the shadow of the Almighty.”Psalm 91:1

strings

Posted in Rhymes & Dimes on January 10, 2006 by didee

Play for me
the days
which had been
the best days
of my life

Play for me
the nights
which had me
wishing
not to end

Play for me
the walks which
we took, looking
for that resto
that we never get to find

Play for me
the laughs
and smiles
that ends
every meeting
even after each cry

Play for me
the memories
that haunts my nights
and taunts my days
and tell me again
why they have to end

Play for me
that song which
you made for me
Play for me
and loosen
these strings

Unsweetened.Torture

Posted in Rhymes & Dimes on January 9, 2006 by didee

Like a thousand needles
piercing my insides
each moving at a fast phase
one after the other
not allowing me a space
or a fraction of a second
just to breathe

Like poison in my bloodstream
swallowing me up whole
an antidote which is nonexistent
proves to be my only hope
of salvation from
this infinite hellish pain

Like a dementor’s kiss
that sucks out evry ounce
of happiness i desperately
try to cling to
a kiss which leaves me
in such unfathomable torment

It’s like being tied helplessly
watching yourself sink
into the quicksand,
swiriling in slow motion
as if taunting you
for your worthlessness

It’s like fighting a losing battle
and no matter how much you teach
yourself to win,
you just can’t
cause you’re only just one man

i dont know what it’s like
to be the love of a poet
be the words behind her
rhyme
be the rhythm in her
sleep
and be the moment that
takes her breath away

i dont know what it’s like
to be the water
drowning her pain
be the blanket
covering her skin
and to be the pillow
witnessing her dreams

i dont know what it’s like
being the comfort
she curls herself in
be the reason behind
her smiles
and be the hand
that wipes her tears

i dont know what it’s like
what it’s like in the
other end
all i know is whats it’s like
being the poet in your arms

————————————-

Just after posting the above poem in the poetry mailing here in the office. Georgec (aka Master George), emailed a sorta reply to it. And a couple of minutes after, i emailed my reply. Hope you’ll enjoy the short exchange =)

p.s: note to poeticnook… miss ka namin during these times. Minsanan lang maging “alive” ang poetry list. :(

————————————–

georgec reply:

it’s like this

it’s like days falling painfully insignificant
like gray skies on rainy days.
it’s like trying to count for whatever reasons
all the acne scars on the moon’s face.

it’s like the emptiness that follows a sunset
when one sits in a corner alone.
it’s like a GLOBE or SMART text in the otherwise
empty inbox of your cellphone.

my reply :

so you say

so you say it was like that
to become an insignificant sniff of the other
finding your sanity hanging by a thread
and finding lunacy a sweet surrender

so you say it was like that
watching the sunset in a whole new horizon
and keeping one word messages
locked in the corners of your cellfone

One Moonless Night

Image hosted by Photobucket.comOne moonless night

The past ghost came creeping
Back one moonless night
When no shadow
Could tell
That it was already here

When no stars
Twinkle
And no moon
Lights the pavement
Old familiar footsteps
Shows again

I left
with the
moonlight
to see me
on my way
and build
walls to
protect me from
my own lunacy

and now that
the moon has chosen
to let me be
i find you in
place where
i left
and slowly
my brick wall
shakes
to allow
glimpse of moonlight
to seep my way

i just dont know
where the moonlight
path would lead me

—-

The moon now holds a memory of that ghost. The man on the moon does it again.

Ode to the moon

Posted in Rhymes & Dimes on July 19, 2005 by didee

we met at a time
when there was nothing
but the moon to cover us
with the cold crisp wind
blanketing our
shivering skin

i met you at a time
when the clouds
shy away from the moon
and the sky so bright
without stars

i met you at a time
when the pavement
is lit by sliver of moonlight
and daunted only by
shadow of some stranger

i met you at a time when
the face hidden by the moon
chose to smile
and wink at me with some
foolish glint in his eyes
(as if relaying to me a secret)

i met you at a time
when the mind is free from
words to think
and emotions are raw
and feelings are
uninhibited by the moon

and i left
when the moon’s moods
changes the tide
and as the waters ebb
i, too, have left your side
